Alert, College Students & Their Parents! Dropping A Class Or Dropping Out Of College Altogether This Fall Could Really Cost You!

Many students and parents don’t realize that when a student drops a class, it may cost them money. For example, many universities work on a credit hour system where 12 credits is considered full-time, but dropping a class during the fall semester may take the credit hours down to ¾ time…and the loss of federal, state and/or university financial aid. Dropping out altogether before the end of a semester may have even bigger financial implications! Know your university’s withdrawal policies and consult with the Financial Aid Office about the implications for your own finances.
